The Mafia

Italy has been the brimming destination for the Mafias. They are a part of the darker side of the civilization and they are known for their illicit and illegal acts. They earn money through a short cut in life. They do things which are not generally accepted by the contemporary society. However, there are laws against them and this acts in restricting their activities to a great extent. Mafias are extremely powerful and they work in an organized way maintaining a specific channel. At times the mafias try to take control over several sections of the society and they make as a way to extract money forcefully from the common population.

The question may arise that why so people give money to the mafias or why do they pay homage to their illegal unrestricted powers. The reasons are simple. Mafias have a grip over unrestricted power and money and with the help of such powers they can act forcefully over common people; they can cause unrestricted turmoil within the society. Thus, fear of death and fear of chaos often make the general people subjugate to such strong gangs who perform so forcefully within the society. With the intent to make more and more money the mafia groups join hands with each other and in this way the chain is stretched and they gain more power to rule over the society unlawfully.

Recently, there was an incident in Italy that the mafias took control over the whole vegetable market. They decided the costs of the products and they even decided that who would transport the goods or the products. They took control over the entire market and made life miserable for the marketers. Their unavoidable power and fame brought distress to the life of several people. Prices of vegetables gained a massive hike and police tried to bring an end to this unlawful act.

The mafia bosses and the mafia teams even forced the farmers make use of the haulage method of farming. In this way they could transport the crops quite easily. This was a good way for the mafias to make a huge sum of money. Most of the mafias always look for way by which they can enhance market price in several ways so that they can squeeze the money out of the local people. Several times the suspects are being arrested by the police but due to lack of concrete evidence the shackles are loosened and the mafias had a good time once again.

Making a profit through mafia acts is really on the scene and most of you would be familiar with the name Domenico Oppedisano. He has been arrested this year and he is 81 years old. So just imagine his years of silent operation. After such long days of criminal hibernation this mafia boss has been successfully imprisoned but his years of mafia activities have been quite inspiring for other people in the group. The call of money and power is so intense that the world of mafias has been quite a promising genre for most people to join especially for those being illegal are just a way of being more liberal in life.

The network of the mafias has always been quite promising and overpowering. They have always operated with success. Mafias know that their acts can come to an end with serious law enforcement. Still they are desperate and still they would not stop. The chance to go over law and the scope to earn more than handful in life is a golden opportunity for most people. Thus, with that x factor in character and the pride of being villainous most people are trying to be better mafias in life. History can also relate several mafia wars where one group made an attempt to put an end to the other for the cause of being supreme.

However, you would really be interested to know that how these mafias came into being. In Sicily several foreign groups started living together with lots of differences. Most of these groups ruled Italy from time to time and they even had preparations of protecting themselves from the deadly clutches of the other group. Thus, the desire to be on the top and to have some easy means of getting money in hand the mafias entered into group conflicts and they even possessed powerful weapons to declare war against each others’ supremacy.

Mafias are always known for making the wrong use of power and wealth. In short mafia means oppression and mafia means arrogance. The mafias have also gone through bloodshed to make a place for themselves and rule earth till the end. The son of a mafia is a mafia again and this has become like heredity. However, ion trying to trace the origin of the mafias it has come to notice that this was a name specifically given to a group who always tried to raise voice against the tyrant. Mafia is a kind of voice raised in order to put an end to oppression.

Mafia at the beginning was not a concept associated with illegality. However, with days the name has lost its implication and now being a mafia is more than a crime. The concept is that when you are trying to overpower someone in the wrong authority you have to be more powerful. Being more powerful can call for things which are out of common human dictionary. When you have overpowered the wrong you are worshiped, but you take the place of the tyrant and most often the lust for power and fame enables you sink to the same role and you ar5e now the better MAFIA.

Sicily has been the point of origination for the mafias. However, quite shortly the activities’ had also started in other parts of America. Things went on secretly and most people had to stay hidden with their families and this popularized the concept of being underground. However, mafias cannot operate so freely these days. Civil laws have become more stringent these days and these have given way to undesirable rivalries and inter group oppressions. International law enforcement has become quite strict in dealing with the mafias and this has caused hibernation in the act of being a mafia.

Italy has been long known as the center point for the Mafia activities. However, the operation of these organizations have been tried to be suppressed by the different law enforcement agencies in Italy, but without any result. On the contrary, it has also been recognized that the past activities of these groups were stronger compared to that of now. For the overall benefit of the society, these activities have been tried to be suppressed to a great extent by the law and enforcement agencies. Few months back, there were reports of the incident that the Mafia groups tried to control the vegetable market, and accordingly, the suspects were arrested by the police of Italy.

With a goal of making money, the Mafia groups entered into a joint venture with other groups and consequently, they were responsible for controlling the prices of products in the market. Accordingly, by means of using the power, they not only controlled the prices of different products in the market, but at the same time, they also dictated the particular companies that could be given the charge of transporting the products. This proved to be a threat for the other producers and also the local residents of Italy.

From a secret source, police got information about this operation, and accordingly, they set out for a venture by means of which they could arrest the major force operating behind the control of the vegetable market and the prices in the market. The bosses of the Mafia groups forced the farmers to use the services of the haulage firm so that the crop could be easily transported. This haulage firm was also owned by the Mafia bosses. With such an operation, it would definitely help the Mafia groups in fulfilling the goal of making money. In fact, by means of controlling the market in such a typical way, these groups could also find an easy means of making money.

The mafia groups also found out a way so that they could raise the prices in the market. The operation was continuing for a long time, unless these activities were tracked by the police.  The Italian police arrested the suspects, and according to the police, these suspects were members of the Mafia organizations exclusively based in Italy and Sicily. In fact, some of these suspects also hailed from group of Naples Mafia, while some were exclusively members of Mallardo and Licciardi clans.

This shows that irrespective of the rivalry existing between the various Mafia clans since a long time, they are currently trying hard to achieve a common mission of making money and reaching a higher margin of profit.  At the same time, it is also expected that if these rival groups become united once again, they would become a stronger force, and this in turn, would further make it difficult for the Italian police to break down the group. Irrespective of that, it is expected that the recent arrests made by the Italian police will bring a crack to the organization.
